PRIVACY STATEMENT

Your privacy is important to us at the WA Federation of Rural Youth (WAFRY)

These guidelines outline how WAFRY intends to use and manage your personal information provided to or collected by our organisation.

WAFRY collects names, postal addresses, phone/fax and email addresses of thier members. We also require birth dates to verify members' age as we are a youth organisation for those aged between 18-35 years. Members have the option of entering their occupation on the membership form and may indicate their previous training or education. Members may supply an indication of skills they can offer WAFRY and which areas of WAFRY they would like to make a contribution.

Collection

WAFRY will collect only personal information that is necessary for the performance of organsaitonal functions. WAFRY will advise individuals in general terms who will have access to inforamtion aout them. Individual members can access personal information that WAFRY may have about them. WAFRY will not collect any sensititve information in the way of racial, ehtnic, political, religious or sexual preferences.

We may also take photos of those people who attend our events. These photos will only be used for WAFRY promotional purposes.

Use and Discolsure

Use and disclosure of personal information by WAFRY will only be for the primary purpose for which it was collected or a realted purpose them members would reasonably expect. We use your information internally and do not share it with other people or oganisations. If we do provide your phone number or email address so a secondary purpose (such as event enquiries or media requests) we will first seek your consent to do so. WAFRY will never sell or otherwise distribute members' contact information for mailing lists, external databases or to any other organsaition.

Accuracy

WAFRY will make every endevour to ensure that the personal information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. Members have the right to seek access to their personal information and make corrections. If any of the information is incorrect, or you want us to remove all ifnoramtion about you, please contact us and we'll emend it promptly.

Security

WAFRY will take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed as completely secure. So while we strive to protect such information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information transmitted to us and individuals do so at their own risk. Once any personal information comes into our possession, we will take reasonable steps to protect that information from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
